Alison McDougall
Articling StudentI am a passionate family law advocate with a unique background that combines experiences in sales and marketing, a strong academic foundation, and a deep commitment to ensuring access to justice for all. After nearly a decade working in sales and marketing following my Bachelor of Human Ecology (with a concentration in Family Social Sciences and a minor in Psychology) at the University of Manitoba, I decided it was time to finally pursue my passion in family law.
In 2024, I graduated from Queen’s University Faculty of Law. During my time at Queen’s Law, I was involved with the Family Law Internship Program (at RST!), the Canadian Journal of Commercial Arbitration, the Grad Club Board of Directors, and was honored with the Queen’s
Law Feminist Jurisprudence Award for my paper titled “Gladue, Mandatory Minimums, and the Victimization-Criminalization Continuum: How We are Failing to Protect Our Indigenous Women”.
Having grown up in a semi-remote town with limited resources, I am deeply committed to ensuring quality legal representation is accessible to all. My work with Pro Bono Students Canada’s Family Justice Centre allowed for me to focus on that commitment and bring my skills and passion into my work with RST Law, where I hope to make a meaningful impact on clients’
lives throughout my career.
Outside of work, I enjoy watching football (CFL and NFL – Go Blue Bombers and Lions!), and I am a proud dog mama to my 6-year-old rescue pup, Marx.
