Carolyn Sowerby

Born and raised on the West Island of Montreal, I attended the University of Ottawa from 2005 to 2010. In that time, I completed both a Civil Law and Common Law degree as part of the National Program. In search of articles in a smaller town, I moved to Thunder Bay in 2010 where I worked in a medium-sized full-service firm. I practiced there for one year before ultimately deciding I wanted to live closer to my family.

In 2012, my husband and I moved to Kingston and have since built a life here. I have practiced in the areas of family law, real estate and wills and estates since my call to the bar in 2011.

I have been with RST since it started in 2017 and I am very proud of the work our firm does. As a lawyer, I am client-focused and I take the role of advocate very seriously. The justice system can be daunting and complicated, but my goal is to make the process more accessible and to navigate its challenges together.

In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family and staying active.
